King Khalid International Airport Achieves Record Operational Numbers:
Highest Figures in Passenger Numbers, Daily Flights, and Baggage Handling

During the first peak days of the Hajj season for the year 1445 AH, King Khalid International Airport set a new operational record for the highest number of passengers, daily flights, and baggage handling. This milestone reflects the airport’s growing operational activity.
On Thursday, June 13, 2024 (corresponding to 7 Dhul-Hijjah), the airport welcomed 124,000 passengers, surpassing the previous record of 116,000 passengers set on February 29, 2024.
Similarly, the number of flights on Thursday, June 13, 2024, reached 901 flights, exceeding the previous record of 805 flights set on March 3, 2024 (corresponding to 22 Sha’ban 1445 AH).
The baggage handling systems in both international and domestic terminals processed 98,347 pieces of luggage, breaking the previous record of 92,096 pieces set on June 23, 2023.
Additionally, the airport recorded a remarkable number of Hajj pilgrims passing through, with the total exceeding 50,000 pilgrims as of today. Among them, 9,392 pilgrims were international travelers.
